We are committed to helping to raise the profile and performance of UK sport across the world by identifying, coaching and supporting talented athletes.
We work with and fund UK Sport and Sport England to develop world-class competitors in the following ways:

The Summer and Winter Paralympic Games are the ultimate international competitions for world class athletes with a disability. Athletes have to meet strict qualifying standards in order to compete.
The British Paralympic Association is responsible for selecting, preparing, entering, funding and managing Britain's teams at the Paralympic Games and the Paralympic Winter Games.
The BPA is a registered charity which we part fund. It also receives Lottery money and raises money through sponsorship and fundraising.
- Sports medicine and science
The four Sports Institutes of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland provide state of the art facilities for sports science and medicine.
