Ian Good CBE has been appointed as interim Chair of the Tote, Minister for Sport Gerry Sutcliffe announced today.
Ian Good is a current board member and will take up the post from 1 January 2008 for a period of six months. It follows the decision of current Chair, Peter Jones, to retire on the 31 December.
Gerry Sutcliffe said:
“I’m pleased Ian has agreed to take on this role during an important period for the Tote. He brings with him considerable experience and judgement that will prove very important. I’d also like to place on record my thanks to Peter Jones, who has been an excellent Chair of the Tote and a steady hand during a period of uncertainty.”
Ian Good said:
"I am delighted to have been invited to hold the reins of the Tote during a period which is exciting and challenging in equal measure for the Tote's businesses and its employees."
A new, permanent Chair will be appointed by end of June 2008 by the normal public appointments
process. Due to his other commitments, Ian Good will not be applying for the position on a full
time basis.
